Taiko is a decentralized Ethereum-equivalent ZK-EVM and general-purpose ZK-Rollup. Its purpose is to allow developers and users of dApps developed for Ethereum L1 to be used on Taiko without any changes. As a result, dApps can be easily deployed to L2, inheriting Ethereum’s security while incurring lower transaction fees than on L1.

As predicted in our potential airdrop overview, Taiko is airdropping 5% of the initial token supply to various early users. Taiko Block proposers, Taiko Block provers, testnet users(s), Galxe campaign participants, GitHub contributors on eligible repositories, Loopring community members, and Ethereum ICO participants who transacted between 2022-02-01 00:00:00h and 2024-02-01 00:00:00h on mainnet are eligible for the airdrop. Users can check their eligibility now and claim the tokens once claiming goes live.

Taiko has announced that the Taiko Protocol has been deployed on the Ethereum mainnet. Users can now bridge ETH to Taiko using their official bridge. Farming on the mainnet might make you eligible for a second round of airdrop if the team plans to launch one.

Step-by-Step Guide:

Claim Season 1 Airdrop

1. Visit the Taiko airdrop eligibility checking page.
2. Connect your wallet.
3. Now click on “Check Eligibility”.
4. You will see your allocation if you’re eligible.
5. Now connect your GitHub account (Optional) and bind your account to see your total allocation.
6. Eligible users are:
   • Taiko Block proposers
   • Taiko block provers
   • Testnet users(s)
   • Galxe campaign participants
   • GitHub contributors on eligible repositories
   • Loopring community member who meets conditions
   • Ethereum ICO participants who transacted between 2022-02-01 00:00:00h and 2024-02-01 00:00:00h on mainnet
7. Once they have checked and the claim window is open, eligible users will have one month to claim their TKO.

9. They’ve also launched a new Taiko Trailblazers campaign. You can join by connecting your Twitter and registering your wallet. You will be able to mint a Faction badge, granting you entry into the Trailblazer campaign.

Potential Season 2 Airdrop

1. Taiko has announced that the Taiko Protocol has been deployed on the Ethereum mainnet.
2. Users can now bridge ETH to Taiko using their official bridge.
3. Users can also visit Rhino.fi, connect their ETH wallet, and sign two messages (no gas fees).  Rhino.fi has removed all fees to bridge for a limited time to celebrate the launch of Taiko mainnet.
4. Regular users can interact with dapps, swap, borrow, and stake their ETH.
5. Farming on the mainnet might make you eligible for a second round of airdrop if the team plans to launch one.
6. Please note that there is no guarantee that they will do a second airdrop. It’s only speculation.
